We use the ABEKA curriculum throughout our school. This is an advanced phonics-based program that centers on teaching children to read. We firmly believe that reading is the foundation for all other learning and by laying a strong foundation in reading, your child will be poised for success in learning throughout their educational career. The curriculum also includes a daily bible time where children are taught familiar bible stories and Christian values in a non-denominational manner.
Math, science, art, and social skills training are also a vital part of the program. Regular weekly activities include music, spanish and art. The entire school participates in a weekly assembly program that is led by Mr. Pierce and includes singing fun songs and a brief bible lesson that teaches core values of love for God and love for other people.
The goal of our program is to provide a safe, positive, Christian environment for children to become enthusiastic about education and to develop a healthy sense of self-worth. We offer a traditional approach to learning where children are taught to respect teachers and to cooperate with their fellow students.
We believe that learning takes place in many different ways for children, and while our program is primarily "teacher-directed", we do provide a balance between those times of formal instruction and "child-directed" exploration of learning centers, recreation, socialization, artistic expression, and music. We want children to experience many successes in their learning. Each child is seen as a unique individual created by God with special talents, abilities, and interests.
Our staff includes specailly trained and degreed teachers who will encourage your child to develop self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and self-esteem. All staff go through an extensive interview process and background checks and participate in ongoning training workshops and seminars throughout the year.
